Strengthening Local Brand Perception with Data

Southwest Finland isn’t just where Turku Energia operates – it’s home. Drama Queen designed a data-driven multichannel campaign that brought to life their brand promise: Close to you, with vision ahead.

Drama Queen and Turku Energia share a long history of collaboration. In 2024, we developed a new marketing communications concept for the company along with a colourful, distinctive and attention-grabbing visual identity.

One of Turku Energia’s most strategic messages is their local presence. Turku Energia knows its operating environment inside out, allowing it to serve people and businesses in the region with genuine expertise. This was the message we set out to strengthen even further.

Hyperlocal OOH that speaks to your neighbourhood

In autumn 2025, we created a campaign that demonstrated just how well Turku Energia understands its customers. Our idea was simple: use neighbourhood-level data to show that Turku Energia doesn’t just serve the region – it truly knows it.

We identified interesting data points that distinguish different neighbourhoods and the people living in them. Which district uses the most cooling energy? Where is renewable energy most popular? Which neighbourhood prefers to communicate in Swedish?

We transformed these and more insights into a multichannel hyperlocal campaign, with messages tailored by postal code. Bright orange OOH surfaces injected colour into the streets of Turku in October, speaking directly to locals with messages crafted for their area. The campaign was supported with print, TV and geo-targeted social media.

The result brought Turku Energia closer to the people of Turku than ever before – in a way that truly highlighted the depth and meaning of being a local energy partner.
